Recreation
Things to Do in Fiji
Recreation literally means to re-create; to rejuvenate your mind, relax your body and lift your soul. Lalati Resort and Spa invites you to partake in any of the our tantalizing activities that will help you “re-create your body and soul”.
Complimentary diversions for those seeking a touch of adventure would include world-class snorkeling right out your front door, unguided shore diving, kayaking in tranquil Malumu Bay, guided hikes to the top of Beqa and village tours to discover life in a remote Fijian village. Shore diving in "Jayne’s Lane", right in front of the resort, is a must for those seeking to discover exotic marine habitants like seahorses and ghost pipefish.
Beqa Lagoon, famous for its beautiful coral and diversified marine life, offers uncrowded scuba diving for all levels of divers. Our dive staff is eager to show you all the diversity of this unspoiled diving playground.
Recreational activities with cost would include game fishing, surfing, day trips to Suva, dive courses, wake boarding and water skiing, and golf trips to Pacific Harbor.
Scuba Diving & Snorkeling
Beqa Lagoon consists of over a hundred square miles of sea surrounded by approximately 190 miles of spectacular coral, one of the world’s largest barrier reefs.
Diving these calm protected waters is like exploring another world. The water is clear and warm, visibility is excellent, currents are generally mild.
Scuba diving, including dive packages, day dives, shark dives, beach dives and PADI diving courses for first-time divers or those who wish to advance their dive training are available. We can also help you plan a dive holiday for your small group.
Snorkeling is free. Swim to the drop off in front of the resort and cruise the reef!
Kayaking
Explore Malumu Bay, our way, the kayak way. In tandem or single kayaks, you can leisurely work your way down Malumu Bay and venture through the mangrove channel at the end of the bay. On the way, scare up some of the thousands of fruit bats who make Bat Island their home.
Or paddle over to the beach across the bay for a picnic or to explore on your own.
Visiting the local Fijian village is a cultural experience. Learn how Fijian's live on these remote tropical isles, about their daily activities, enjoy a visit with the local children.
Resort guests are welcome to visit the Lalati Village church on Sunday. Missionaries from around the world brought church singing to Fiji, where it is sung today like nowhere else in the world. Beautiful harmonies and bright and airy melodies are features of Fijian singing. Tourists are encouraged to join in!
Trekking
Explore a tropical paradise. Lalati's staff will happily escort you to the top of the hill for a spectacular view of Malumu Bay. This is a moderately strenuous hike.
Game Fishing
Full or half-day game fishing trips can be arranged using the Luve Ni Wai.
Wakeboarding / Water Skiing
Ask our staff to arrange a boat and equipment for you.
Romantic Picnic on Nanuku Island
Let our staff know a day ahead so they can prepare a lunch for you to take to tiny Nanuku Island. This tiny island is the picture of a tropical paradise. Surrounded by a beach of the whitest white sand and sparking azure and turquoise water, Nanuku Island has just enough shade to keep you cool and is just the right size for two.
This little gem can barely been seen from the resort and is the ultimate romantic getaway where you can spend the day relaxing, snorkeling and swimming.
